yes, With NC_NEt,
this is one the primary uses of NC_Net.
1) install NC_NEt as the Windows client, (If it is not there already)
2) make sure the Active checks are running OK, (in case of slight
differences from current Windows clients)
3) using check_nc_net use the switch to push Passive check co

Perfect, thanks Gerhard.
This looks (in theory!) to be perfect.

Another "Hmmm".. OK, just for sanity you may want to replace your PHP script
with a simple bash script that outputs to a file (like Mathew suggested).
This will at least tell you if you have Nagios configured right to use that
script.

When you execute the script from the command line, what values do you

What happens when you pass null values? Possible that somehow those are
null in your config and the script is puking? Just kind of musing there.

Thanks but I've tried this already, no file created unfortunately. I'm

Yes I thought that this was a script issue. But please note that this
script works fine and sends mail when executed on command line by Nagios
user. So th
For some reason the check_snmp module did not install when I set up

I would echo the earlier post - add a line like :
echo "I ran" >> /some/log/file
to your wrapper and something simlair to your PHP script. Sounds much
more like an issue in the sh script or PHP than a nagios issue.

In fact I've done this like just in the beginning of script I'm using a
/bin/mkdir command but script doesn't create this folder when used as
nagios command. This means that nagios never runs the shell script. But
in nagios log I see that it is called just after the state of check is
changed.

No, it is being executed from command line like /usr/local/bin/php
/path/aa.php.

Hmmm, without looking at your script, I would say your best bet is to add
logging capabilities to your script. When your script runs, it should log to
a file what it is doing and with what parameters/arguments it is running.
That will at least give you an idea of where the script is dying,

Hi,
I've written a shell script which is calling a php code and I'm using
this shell script as a notification command.
It runs fine when tested on command line executed by both root and
nagios user. But if used as nagios notification command, I cant receive
any mail.
Nagios logs show command is
I just picked up a client with over a thousand check_nt calls, and the
system is obviously lagging quite a bit. I'm hoping that tweaking the
checks from active->passive is a quick fix to the lag.
When a check_nt plugin calls the agent running on Windows (e.g. NSClient++
or NC_net), does it by defa

Hi,
I've been playing with my expanding my nsclient++ setups and
deployments today and as such have been restarted nsclient++ lots. The
problem is that now when I restart it, I cannot get any response on nrpe
calls to the default port 5666 despite the port being open.

Have you checked other services running on it? Particularly non-Microsoft
services (smb/cifs, rdp, etc). Checked it with nmap to see if the port is
(or at least looks) open to the outside world? Is the config exactly the
same as the other clients, or is there something *special* about it?

The NSClient service is running and Windows Firewall is not running.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled NSClient but the connections are
still refused from the server.

You want event handlers.

You can run any program as the result of a change in status of a service.

Is there a way to have a script fire off as a result of a nagios event?
For example, Nagios could monitor/detect if a front-end mail server is down
and then call a script to change the dns for the dns round robin for "MAIL
and Exchange."
This script would look at nagios down/up event to generate

I've installed nagios 2.10 on RHEL5, with nagios-plugins-1.4.10, all work fine.
I can monitor all the site machines of the site.
my request concerns the possibility to view hosts monitored in the statusmap,

I can see hosts in statusmap but without ic

maybe check_multi http://www.my-plugin.de/wiki/projects/check_multi/start is

Hello all, I'm brand new to Nagios, but I'm an experienced Linux user.
That's why I

As far as I know, Nagios can be used to raise alerts when some plugins
