Sea
On the 2.x series there is no way to disable ePN at run time.
Your options seem to be either compile from source with it disabled
or adjust the .spec file and rebuild it.

I'm migrating an old nagios installation to Nagios 2.10, the Fedora
RPM. The Fedora build seems to have ePN enabled by default and a lot
of my old custom Nagios plugins are bailing now. Is there a way to
disable ePN in 2.10?
I found a couple config options for 3.0 that would do it, but they

# du -sh nagios
5.3Gnagios
I'd just use webinject to login, check whatever (query?) and logout.
http://www.webinject.org/
You could also write a little PHP page/script on that server that puts
the status of everything and do a check_http on that page, looking for
"Everything OK" or similar text on the page.

Mark,
Is there anything else I need to do to get the sounds to work from any
host?
Thanks,

Is there a way for Nagios to play a .wav file when an event occurs? If
so, can the sound be played even if I view Nagios from a different

Hello.
I have a system checking its own services and sending them to a
nagios server(passive checks).
But that system stopped sending results to the nagios server. Since
last availlable result was OK, nagios didnt warn me.
Is there any way to tell nagios to set the status of a pass

Hi Marcus
Running "sudo
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_hpasm -v" as nagios prompts me for a password
which does not make sense. If I enter the nagios user password, I get :

Those don't seem to support 3.0

Hi Michel,
did you restart NRPE with debug=1 ?
Any interesting debug output in /var/log/messages?
Please find the pid of the NRPE daemon on host miysis
ps -ef | grep nrpe
Then, trace the process with "strace -f -p
-etrace=execve"
On the Nagios server, execute the "check_nrpe -t 60 -H miysis -c

Hi Marcus
Don't worry, I am a very disciplined person even if I'm french ;-)
So I have tried to logout and login again (as nagios of course) and the result
of the command "check_nrpe -t 60 -H miysis -c check_hpasm" still is "NRPE:
Unable to read output". I have tr

The first command works but the second returns :
NRPE: Unable to read output
