Hi List,
As part of our Internet Connectivity monitoring I monitor a set of
websites on the Internet from a diverse number of locations

There are some issues with this:

Hi all,
I'm trying to get check_snmp_int working on a Juniper.
snmpwalk -Os -c public -v 1 system
works nicely.
I'm trying to do something with octets, being:

gives me exactly what I'm looking for.

We monitor our upstream provider core routers. Basically, we monitor every
physical device between us and them. So, if any device goes down, we can
tell where the problem is originating from.
Secondly, if you have a co-located server outside your network, you can
monitor that as well.

Hi Alex,
Unfortunately most of our upstreams implement CPP (Control Plane
Policing) to prevent DDoS attacks, which essentially means that given a
certain threshold of ICMP messages the routers begin to drop those
packets purposefully to avoid flooding the routers control plane. I do
monitor tho
Hmmm,
I would say your upstream providers should allow your nagios server
(router) icmp access without applying their DDoS ACLs but again, it's
difficult to get other people to work with you when you don't control
the resources.

gotta admit, i didn't know about opsview until i saw this post ...
looks pretty cool and seems like it adds some slightly more robust elements
into nagios (like backend db).
i'm curious to to hear people's opinions here ...
is the backend DB really needed?
one thing I REALLY like about Opsview

Just out of curiosity, have you tried to telnet to Servidor ISASERVER on
port 12489 from your Nagios system? At least that will tell you if you are
having a firewall/routing/networking issue.

How do I blow away old queue paging/email messages for Nagios? The
reason I ask is that our host losses connectivity and Nagios keeps on
performing the checks and when I reboot the host, Nagios starts paging
and emailing out the queued messages. We are running Nagios as a
Solaris Zone.
Thanks
