I have a log server where all servers log in its individual files.
Logs are rotated once a month. Is there any way get Nagios to read the
*.crit lines from the log files and alert for each individual server?
Thanks.

Hi Lance,
I could be wrong, but I think most use either nagiosgraph or pnp4nagios
http://www.pnp4nagios.org/pnp/start for graphing w/rrdtool... (I'm
getting there someday, cacti works for now, let us know how it goes
though!)
Cheers!

I am trying to use HOSTALIAS in one of my service definitions. Is this
possible? I looked at:

and it looks like it is.

Hi guys,
I was wondering if there's a way to incorporate all hosts into one host name
instead of creating individual defines?
I'm trying to add all of our servers into Nagios but there's huge amount of
them.
Need faster way to add all of them into one script.
Here's what I'm trying to avoid:
ok, I now have (thanks to the group) my server up and currently just

ethernet traffic, etc. and wondering can this be done as well.
I am looking on the nagios exchange site and don't see anything that can

Hi
You can check_by_ssh and execute a shell script on server side to get the
informations you want.

Hello Eduardo,
your command-line is wrong:
[r...@atvies00nx etc]# ../libexec/check_bacula -h
Copyright (C) 2005 Christian Masopust
Written by Christian Masopust (2005)
Version: 2.2.6 (10 November 2007) i686-pc-linux-gnu redhat Enterprise release
Usage: check_bacula [-d debug_level] -H host
Unfortunately, SNMP is disabled and can not be enabled.
I will look at the check_ssh plugin.
Thanks

I've setted the check_bacula for one of the host (bacula), and nagios is
showing "null" for status information and status is critical.
on (/usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/commands.cfg):

Hey List,
I was wondering if anyone would know if it is possible to monitor a few
things on a HP-UX system without installing anything on the server? We are
unable to install anything, plugins, apps etc on the server, it's a
production server. Below is a description of the general requirements.

Hi Eduardo,
I simply monitor the TCP ports Bacula used (server and client) and the
process counts of the bacula-fd, -sd and -dir processes.
It's fairly basic but it does the job.

Hi every:
I'm trying to generate Nagios configuration using NConf Web Interface. After

Finally, I found that problem...
So, I've added two arguments ARG1, ARG2 in define_command and the following in

The result:

In order to collect data, I've been automatically discovering and

Sean,
Cheers for the recommendation. I got a similar response on the Centreon

HI there,
I've got a requirement to run a service check at a specific time of day.

Dear All,
I've managed to install my Nagios server (monitor), and it seems that
all is well with it. The box to be monitored(client) has NRPE running on
it. On monitor, I run

I get the CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout after 10 seconds error message
