I would like to know if we have any ready plugins/scripts for monitoring the
print queue. We are still running nrpe and pnsclient on the clients.
Any help will be appreciated.

I have a number of machines that cannot be looked up by hostname, however I
don't want them listed in nagios as IPs. So I have:
host_name 172.16.165.41
alias VIO_server
However this still comes up as the IP.
How do I get it to recognize the alias?

I was more worried about 2 instances using the same port at the same
time. I know I can compile nrpe to use a different port, but I don't
to have to manage 2 sets of checks on the host, one for each nrpe
instance.

This is how pretty much all client/server software works. Think SMTP server,
HTTP server, etc. I'd consider any server software that didn't do this as
broken.

I've been trying to get NDOutils to work so I can use a MySQL backend
(and later Centreon, but that's a different story). Before I forget,
this is a Ubuntu Hardy (8.04.4) running Nagios 3.2.1, Nagios Plugins
1.4.14 and NDOUtils 1.4b9.

Ssh (remote_machine_ip) -l nagios -I /etc/nagios/.ssh/id_dsa
logs me in with prompt "nagios@(remote_machine_name):~>" and
whoami returns nagios.

Does anyone know why I might be getting really poor performance when
running the availability report against a host? Disk iowait doesn't
seem to be a problem. I notice when avail.cgi is running, the cpu wait
can get pretty high for one cpu. I increased the apache timeout to 5
mins and still running
