Is there a way to make for example the hostgroups as only a topic?
I am monitoring about 100 severs and all those servers are grouped by different
hostgroups , since all the servers belongs to different companies. When you get

We have added the checking time period in timeperiods.cfg file. and it is
correctly showing in the Host State Information

Sadly, we're running 2.5 (looking to upgrade/switch to icinga later in the
year, still figuring out which), and the system never gets to checking for a
host failure; indeed, once we get the first failure (Current attempt: 1/3), it
never appears to go back and check again.

I have enabled debugging on the client, and there were no error messages listed
in /var/log/messages file

Yes. The only thing what is to do for you, is configure your MTA (postfix,
sendmail, exim) on the Nagios server.
