Hello Daniel. Thank you for the advice. Fetching through unix domain socekt seems to be interesting. In memory access will definitely be more effective than raw file access. I will check this further. Thanks, Yu Daniel Tuecks さんは書きました: >Hello, > >imho the most effective way is 'livestatus' >(h

Hello Craig, First of all thanks for the fast response. Maybe i need to clear things out a bit more to why ACTIVE checks are happening on the central server. We have a distributed setup with a central machine in DMZ reachable for all remote nagios machines we have out there. One of those is the

Michel, I just did the same thing for my set up and I didn't see this issue. That being said, I don't *want* the central master to execute service checks at all unless it's stale. What may be happening is that the remote passive check may be getting inserted while the system is waiting to execute

[Nagios-users] Problem with OCP_daemon in distributes environment

2011-08-16 Thread michel.vdv
Dear readers, I have a strange problem related to the use of OCP_daemon. I've implemented this today on a "remote" nagios machine responsible for monitoring our LAN hosts. Until now all messages and performance data was sent from that machine to our Central Nagios machine via obsess_over_hosts

Good day folks. Since I last posted a question here, I've been making a ton of progress. Enough so that now I'm getting into the "wouldn't it be nice bits." On my new Nagios 3 system, which is running a distributed probe set up, when I run an availability report it takes somewhere in excess of 5

Hi all, I compiled rpms of nagios 3.3.1 from the nagios.spec contained into the tar.gz. There are 2 problems with this procedure, I hope this is the right place to point them out: 1) extracting the tar.gz creates a directory called "nagios", while the expected name is "nagios-3.3.1" - I recreat

Hello! I'm sorry for my terrible English. Google translate is still not good enough. I use Nagios Not so long ago. We have a need to send data on the status of hosts and services using snmp from nagios to another server. Unfortunately I could not find information on the possibility to use Nagios
