I am having an issue with nagios and the archive/log rotation. I have
configured log_rotation_method=d and when it runs I see a SIGSEGV in
the nagios.log and nagios shutsdown. I can move it to =h and it will do
it every hour (crash). The logfile has nothing else to indicate why it
is crashing.
Which version of nagios?
Are you using check_mk / mk_livestatus?
Check the thread Nagios 3.5.0 segfaulting at midnight in this list's archives.
Cheers,
Phil

I can't believe I did not mention this.
3.4.4 under RHEL but it looks like (just noticed) 3.5.0 is up on epel
now so I could upgrade.

Indeed I do use check_mk for passive/web interface.
I have an rpm with the patch included for epel6/x86_64 right here:
http://pall.sigurdsson.is/filez/nagios-3.5.0/
It fixed same problem for me.
Can someone please prod the nagios dev team to release a new version that fixes
the bug ?
Kind regards,
Pall Sigurdsson
