In the doc dealing with the service cluster with the check_cluster plugin,
the example uses $SERVICESTATEID:host:Service$
But I'd like to use the hardstate. As far as I know, there is no variable
giving the service hardstate. I had a look at the list

I do this with NagVis. Quite simple and powerfull. You can create new maps
and add your own iconset (big blinking animated gif!)

I'm facing the same issue. And I'd like to find a way to turn off the
monitoring on the remote host from the web interface on the main server.
Because operators are not abble to log on the remote monitoring servers.
