If the implication there is that veteran nagios users don't need to
keep configs under source control, then I disagree :-)

Hi all,
I just learned what Expect was and wrote a few scripts to automate
certain tasks around the office, and now I'm wondering if Expect can be
used in conjunction with Nagios. Is this possible?
Example: One of our servers go down at least twice a day, and we know
it's problematic. We co

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what plugins to use
to check temperature for a Cisco 7200 router. If possible I'd like to
monitor temp on our other devices like our 3560 Catalyst switches as
well as our 3550's.
I tried looking on NagiosExchange but the plugins I f
Hi all,
I went to Nagios Exchange and downloaded the tsm checks so I can use
them on our Tivoli Storage Manager server via NRPE. I'm running into an
issue here, as I think the script wasn't intended to be used on any
other host than localhost.
The reason I say this is because it appears when

I've been running Nagios 2.6 for about 6 months now, and every now and

Nagios can't connect to it. It causes the CEO to freak out and believe
something is up with our network.

Hi, all!
We are monitoring an external FTP server that is not in our
control but that we depend on for a certain part of our business.
After the FTP service failed for a short period of time on
Saturday, the host was flagged "down" and has not come up
since. I just found out that the other admin

Ping? If you can reach the remote end, the tunnel can be assumed
to be up.
HTH,
Hi all!
Foremost: I've searched the online manual and the FAQ.
I have not searched the mailing list archives for an
answer to my question. I apologise in advance, but I
found it rather difficult to come up with keywords to
search for.
OK, here's the challenge:

I have several hosts with no associated services, and their status
bars are stuck on "PENDING" in the Host Detail cgi. check_command on
them is set to check-host-alive, and checks_enabled is set to 1. What
am I doing wrong, why aren't the hosts being checked?
