Are you using the latest version of PNP4Nagios? If so, maybe it doesn't
support Nagios 4.0 yet?

Are event handlers run for a service or host that is in a scheduled downtime?
I can't find any documentation on this. I know notifications are
suppressed, though checks still run. I would like the event handler for one
service not to run during a downtime. Is that possible?
I'm using Nagio

max_concurrent_checks in nagios.cfg to limit the number of concurrent checks.
Unfortunately, this is a global limit. It would be nice if this sort of
limit could be applied to a service group so the plugins don't have to manage
concurrency.
Any ideas? Thanks,

Service and host check plugins are responsible for implementing their own
timeouts, not Nagios. This socket timeout must be specific to the plugin you
are using for the service. The timeouts in nagios.cfg are backstops that
prevent "stuck" plugins from tying up Nagios resources. You should look

Maybe the problem is in your notification command. It may not be reporting
the result correctly.

I'll second that!

PNP4Nagios installed with Nagios.
You can subscribe to the pnp4nagios-users mailing list here.
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/pnp4nagios-users
The people on it are usually very good about answering questions about it.

I recommend PNP4Nagios, especially if you have a large quantity of data and
services to graph. The installation options offer better scalability than
NagiosGraph.

LivestatusSlave works makes MKLivestatus a web service which provides the
status information in JSON syntax.

I wouldn't argue against this feature. It would be convenient to have, but
your argument depends on your definition of "a problem". SOFT state errors
are an indication of a potential problem, or it may be a transient problem.
That's why SOFT states exist so Nagios can retry the test to determi

You can disable notifications any time. You can't acknowledge a problem when
there hasn't been a notification yet. The acknowledgement sends its own
notification which might be confusing to those who weren't
subject
line. It doesn't work that way. Threads are maintained by the Message-IDs in
the email header, not the subject line contents. So you must start a new
thread by composing a new message using the nagios-users@lists.sourceforge.net
address in your address book.
