Dear Nagios Users,
I was forced to relocate my main Nagios server temporarily.
The negative effect of this was, because the server now resides
in a totally different lan segment,
not only that I had to change the whole parent relations of hosts
to cater for the changed routing.
Even worse, was th
Hello again,
please, excuse my x-posting to two lists simultanously
but I'm about to despair.
I cannot find out on my own why Nagios isn't notifying about this
"trap service" that I had defined

Hello Nagios Users,
neither the Nagios' online docs nor Wolfgang Barth's Nagios book
(issued by Open Source Press in German, and by No Starch Press in
English)
could unambiguously explain the difference between the two

in order to reduce the amount of emitted notifications in case of
a failover or outage.
For a start I want to keep it simple and take one of our less

I also lack roo
Almost all of the hosts I monitor with Nagios use some kind of

(either LVM on HP-UX and Linux, or VxVM on Solaris),
and I have no problem whatsoever with check_disk on those.
I wonder why you check the partitions (or better LVs in your
case)
instead of having all local mounts checke
Hello,
I stumbeled over a nasty quirk from check_procs that I compiled
from the sources.
To start, this constitutes my platform and build
