I run 2 Nagios with MRTG on 2 separate VMs on separate sites myself and have
been for over year. Since we have 2 sites, to circumvent the issue with
monitoring the ESXi server I leave that to the other site.
Site A monitors the ESXi server in Site B and vice versa. This also helps in

Hello,
I'm trying to find the best way to monitor several user directories and
files to see who accessed, modified, renamed, or deleted them. File access
is also key because we want to know who is looking at files that they should
not. I know that I can deny access to directories but I would ha

Hi,
Has anyone tried to monitor Thin Clients with Nagios..as far as hardware
health or anything other than just ping? Specifically with Wyse thin clients
and Nagios 3.0.6. I'm curious to see what can be monitored.
Thanks,

Has Anyone tried to monitor Dell PowerConnect switches? I have several
switches and their web interface is the Dell OpenManage and therefore is
able to submit SNMP traps. Has anyone tried such setup or has any
suggestions on how I can pass these traps to Nagios?

Hi all,
I'm using Nagios 3.0.2 and I'm having an issue where my nagios.cmd
disappeared. I managed to reproduce this and it seems to happen when I
execute the following "Service nagios Start" when nagios is already started.
I believe on previous versions it would tell me that the nagios service

I have a similar setup and same issue here and I'm trying to use check_http

I have IIS setup with multiple virtual sites with different IPs all running

My command is: check_http -H 10.10.5.12 -u http://10.10.5.111

I have need for Nagios to call a URL to determine if our Application is able
to communicate with our DB2 database. Basically I don't want Nagios to check
if it can communicate with the DB but to check if the App does instead.
The URL I'm mentioning returns the text "Database read su
