Which OS ? Linux has a few. Logwatch and Swatch come to mind. I think
there is more than one version of logwatch. I am referring to the one that
sends an email once per (time period) with new event that have been found
in the log files since the last email, that match your predefinded regexes.

Thank-you for your guidance. Since I am just now starting the install, I
think I will recompile and remove embedded-perl.
I am following the "Nagios: System and Network Monitoring 2nd Edition by

If I swap the –H with localhost, I get back the correct info.
Is it possible to send the results from the DMZ machines to the Centralized

My goal is to send from servers behind dmz to the nagios server.
Thanks for any help.

Rookie question here. Trying to determine nagios suitability for an

Can I monitor the CPU utilization for a single user space process on a
Linux box with nagios?
And, can I define an action if it exceeds a threshold?
Thanks

Hello,
I have a question that i'm assuming has a quick answer. I've defined a
command as:
define command{
command_namecheck-site
command_line$USER1$/check_ping -H $ARG1 -w 3000.0,80% -c 5000.0,100%
-p 5 -t 10
}
which i use to just ping different sites via my services.cfg. So
Hello,
I've been trying to debug this issue for some time but i'm stuck and have
not found a solution. Nagios -v nagios.cfg has no complaints, just warns me
that services are not associated with hosts:

with those.
Hello,
I'm not new to nagios, however his is the first nagios installation i
have done with nagios 3.x. I've set up several service escalations in
my services.cfg, they are being recognized and registered with nagios,
however they are not actually doing anything. Despite the escalations

Is it possible, in a service definition to tell the service to not check a

Hi there,
I'm setting up some escalations for the first time.

Hello,

I have an existing Nagios 2.x setup that's fairly complex and working
well. Among other things it has both host & service escalations
defined for both paging and sending e-mail. Most of our hosts are in a
hostgroup that sends out pager notifications.
I just added a new service check that we want t
f the active checks. I'm stumped!
