WHAT I DON´T UNDERSTAND IS THAT WHEN I USE:
./check_mrtgtraf -F /var/www/mrtg/memswap.log -a MAX
I GET THIS ANSWER:
Traffic CRITICAL - Max. In = 217.0 B/s, Max. Out = 0.0
B/s|in=217.00B/s;;;0.00
in=0.00B/s;;;0.00
SO, HOW DO I TRANSLATE THIS TO THE CORRECT SYNTAX IN CHECK_MRTGT
Hello,
you can test your nagios configs if you try:
(you have to set correct path to nagios and the config)
/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /etc/nagios/nagios.cfg
Perhaps you can post the output.
You can find the plugin in you nagios libexec Folder.
The service definition is ok, because the co
I have not used that Plugin but the following is a general procedure I use
to track down a config/new command issue.
Make sure that Nagios compiles correctly
start nagios using the -v to check the config before actually restarting it.
After the config is OK, then make sure the plugin you want to
Gentlemen.
I´ve been fighting with Nagios 3.0.2 on OpenSuse 10.3 while trying to
integrate MRTG and Nagios.
I have followed the sample in Nagios docs which guides us to:
define service{
use generic-service
host_name linksys-srw224p
service_description Port 1 Bandwidth Usage
check_command
check
I'm pretty sure this is a bug. I ran into the same thing, but was
able to fix it easily enough in the source code. Looking at the
original code for this plugin, you can find the section where it sets
the output state, something like:
if (incoming_rate > incoming_critical_threshold
Hi,
My check_mrtgtraf returns STATE_UNKOWN, it should really be STATE_OK.
Why?
My check-command is like this:
/usr/local/libexec/nagios/check_mrtgtraf -F
/usr/local/www/data/mrtg_switch/gatekeeper.log -a MAX -w 375000,375000 -c
50,50 -e 10
Output is this:
Traffic UNKNOWN - Max. In =

Quick question- I currently use MRTG to monitor the traffic on a
number of my routers, and then use the check_mrtgtraf Nagios plug-in
to keep an eye on it. This plug-in has the dual benefit of watching
the traffic on the routers as well as alerting me if MRTG stops
functioning for some reas
I am having an issue with the check_mrtgtraf plugin where whenever
the trafic level is OK, it returns UNKNOWN rather than OK. If the trafic
level is in the critical or warning range, it returns those fine, but not
for OK. the command I am using is:
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_mrtgtraf -F /v
