I do the nails then use gel art (usually YN's Kaleidoscope kit). I leave the
sticky layer and work on that if I'm dragging colors since it allows the colors
to move better. Cure. Topcoat then cure again.

Your best line of defense against lifting is exceptional prep. Then use one of
the sticky primers. This works best for me!
