Why not just paint your clothes with a design. I use my craft paint and paint designs on whenever I stain something up. Everyone thinks I have this designer shirt! Someday I will take a pic of my work.

If there is any material we could clip from the hem, we could put the polish on it and try the acetone, and various methods others have suggested. I did have a favorite shirt that a teeny weeny bit of polish on that I was afraid to remove. It wasn't that noticeable so I just left it.
