They can not handle a full routing table. The load balancing doesn't work. They can not properly reassemble fragmented packets, and therefore drop all but the first piece. They can not reliably handle traffic loads over maybe 200 Mbps, we needed 4-6 Gbps capacity. They can not hold a gre tunnel

When you are talking single or partial rack colo it is generally done as escorted only, due to security. They can't have anyone coming in and poking around other customers hardware without being watched. We do the same thing but we allow 24x7 escorted access. Half and full racks get 24x7

You didn't specify what OS'es you deploy, but for Linux/Red Hat-like systems: PXE boot, Kickstart [1], Puppet [2], Bacula [3]. PXE/Kickstart/Puppet can be managed with Cobbler [4]. Foreman [5] is an alternative for managing Puppet hosts. Any options that also handle Windows Server? -- Matt
