RIPE NCC is an RIR with the IP monopoly

RIPE is a "collaborative forum open to all parties"
http://www.ripe.net/ripe/about.html

RIPE is to NANOG what RIPE NCC is to ARIN....

i dont believe the subsidy provided by the NCC for the meetings is huge but i
may be wrong...

it continues to interest me why this RIPE vs NANOG comparison has been
speculated for the past year or two and still no one has brought real numbers
yet if its really so significant!

450 .... get more sponsors. get a cheaper location, get
something, this is a lot of money and is really monday and 1/2
tuesday. Plus i gotta walk somewhere for lunch, dinner, and the
hotel breakfasts are 13$ when they are cheap like st. louis which is
the exception. last time i calculated it was
Cost per Hour
RIPE: $75.83
NANOG:$91.56
Clearly that is now a bigger spread since the nanog part has gone up
and i'll re do it. Peter.
