           Comanche tribal election

           The special election called by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to
settle internal disputes within the  Comanche Tribes elected leaders were
held Saturday, March 27, 1999.

           Tribal members were voting on the position of chairman,
vice-chairman, sec-treasurer, and committeemen number 1 and number 2.

           With no candidate getting a majority it comes down to all five
ending in a runoff vote. The runoff will be held on April 17, 1999.

           A special election board appointed by the Bureau of Indian
Affairs counted and released the results of the vote early Sunday morning.

           The results for chairman was Keith Yackeyonny 590 votes, Johnny
Wauqua 531 votes, Jacquetta McClung, who was the recognized acting chairman
drew 274 votes, KennethSaupitty received 215 votes, and Eleanor McDaniel
got 75 votes.

           As a result of this tally Keith Yackeyonny and Johnny Wauqua
will vie the position of Comanche Tribal Chairman on April 17,1999.<<END
