The price is crazy. Especially for a new manufacturer on the scene with no
history. Dalibor is definitely a better value and I like his anode design
too. if it was a CD47 clone it might be worth the risk but for $300 you
might as well get two new DF tubes or some B-7971's.

Seconded on the Metcal MX500, they were on another level to conventional
soldering irons but the gap has narrowed considerably in recent years, but
the sub 8 second warm up still amazes me. I have a couple of TCP irons as
well for dragging on site and vehicle / panel work etc.

Yeah, I don't see the point either. You're not buying a piece of history,
unless it is a one-off, then maybe it has some rarity value.

+1 on Metcal - I have both the MX500P (x2) and a MX5200 (the later version)
