I may be demonstrating my glaring lack of electronics knowledge with this
question, but I figure I will learn something from it either way...
Is it possible to use MTX-90 thyratrons as trigger tubes in a ring counter
circuit to build a time keeping device with them? My inspiration in

Hi all-
I had a question on driving nixies using something other than 74141s.
Would any driver that can sink higher currents work ok? Am I right in
assuming I can use a driver that sinks with nixies because the cathodes are
connected to ground when not floating?
For example, would this one w
I was also going to admit my ignorance here...What does Ucc represent?

Hi all-
Besides the OG-4s I got in for threeneuron's great dekatron spinner kit, I
also recently picked up a few A-108s. The extremely small size appealed to
me for whatever reason. I've been perusing the VTA entry on them, and see
that they count base 5 instead of 10, but was wondering if a
I finally got my OG-4s in today from across the pond! w00t! I'll be
soldering together my kit as soon as I have time and will report back my
results. In case you can't tell, I'm very excited, as I haven't done
anything dekatron related yet (unless you count buying a few A101s that are

Hi all-
Another beginner question on building numitron clocks...Is there a DIP
driver IC that people would recommend these days that is relatively
inexpensive and still in production? I have seen the Supertex HV5812
mentioned in my travels, but the Allegro and other obsolete items appear

Hi all-
I have recently been accumulating a small number of different nixie tubes
for eventual use in clocks and whatever other imaginative uses I can come
up with. Some of the ones I picked up are IN-1s. From what I can gather,
sockets are very difficult to come by for these.
Does anyone
Hi all-
This is my first posting to the group. I'm still relatively new to
electronics and to the wonderful world of Nixies. I've built a couple of
Nixie clocks from kits and stuff like the Ogi Lumen and Arduinix platform.
I'm looking forward to eventually building my own clock from scratch,
