Except for the clown in the Washington DC area that has been posting the bad
tubes for the last 9 months...
Sorry I didn't see the tubes at $50 each.  Sweet deal!

Re: [MOD-6_7971] B-7971 Tubes on EBAY in Europe
You can still get the occasional bargain on eBay....you just need to put in the
time, set up the correct alerts and pay attention, it can pay dividends
sometimes. The average listing price is $99 dollars over the last 2 years or
so. I've purchased a number of B7971's on eBay and the majority of them have
been perfect (all the usual caveats apply here, check feedback etc...)...I've
had a couple with defective or multiple segment lighting, but the sellers have
always refunded the money with photographic evidence....but YMMV. I've been
using eBay for 17 years and overall it's been a pretty good experience and the
vast majority of people I've interacted with have been honest...hell, I've even
made some new friends through it over the years!

I too have seen a few listings with larger polystyrene trays of B7971's......I
just wish I'd stumble on one of those in a thrift store or similar, that would
be amazing!!

Best of luck to those of you out there hunting!

Cheers,

Nick

I missed the 9 listed at $50. Really annoying, but they wouldn't have shipped
to Australia anyway.
I have also not bid on a few auctions for the following reasons:
Unclear photos of front and backOne auction I asked the seller about the
markings on the back, and he replied there weren't any, implying aggressive
acetone or 100% IPA cleaning of the tubes somewhere in their life.as well as
the usual eBay warning signs of poor feedback etc.
I now have two spare Ultronics one spare Burroughs late model without the
alignment pin
eBay is very mixed in my experience. If you want the one in Europe, I'd say
grab it fast. (p.s. the box underneath *full* of B7971s in polystyrene made me
cry. I want that box)
