That should work well too.  Home Depot/Lowes has all sorts of epoxies.  I
remember that at least some of them are very close to being clear.

Th Sylgard looks like an excellent, but very expensive, solution.  All
the online sources I found sold it in large quantities.  I think epoxy
is going to be my solution.
