Having an issue with net-snmp 5.6.1 and the latest versions of the hp snmp
agents ( 8.6.3 and 8.7 ). Anyone have anything similar? Any thoughts where I
should go next for support?

No.
snmptrap sends the varbinds (OIDs and values) that you specify
on the command line.
