Do not know if this the right forum to pose these questions, but here it goes :
>1. Compiled net-snmp-5.3.0.1 on solaris 10 on SPARC platform using Sun Studio 11 compiler suite. Sorry, can't help you there - it works with gcc. >2.Once net-snmp, thus compiled and installed, I tried to follow the examples listed in the >tutorial for net-snmp 5.x version, but they do not seem to work as listed. Do I need to be >looking at some other tutorial or are there some other net-snmp source code which I need to compile? Sun has adopted net-snmp for Solaris 10 but made some interesting choices for locatations of files. I'm still trying to figure it all out. If you look in /etc/rc3.d there's actually three startup files; S75seaport, S76snmpdx and S82initsma. These three daemons are interlinked. If you don't mind losing this functionality, you can kill all three and follow the instructions in README.solaris for how to roll your own net-snmp in /usr/local. I'm hoping to have time soon to write the instructions on how to do it properly.
