I am on RHES5 system using latest available RH patches. Starting snmptrapd using the following options works: OPTIONS="-c /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf -Lf /var/snmp/snmptrapd.log -p /var/run/snmptrapd.pid" But each time the services is restarted the log file is truncated and data is lost. The

Hi i have a problem with snmptrapd version 5.2.3 on debian. it seems as snmptrapd looses some traps. the trap sender and snmptrapd are running on the same physical maschine, communicating over lo, if i capture the network packets i see all traps send. if i configure a simple trap handler shell

Hi Dave, thanks for your help; using your command I found out that there was an error on the "snmpd.conf" file, that made the snmpd process to hang. Regarding the other problem (I had a failure on a hard disk test I implemented), I solved it disabling SeLinux on my machine. Angela At 20.43 25
