I'm happy to announce that we've begun the process for releasing the
next major version of Net-SNMP. Net-SNMP 5.6.rc2 has a number of bug
fixes over the .rc1 release. It is available from:
https://sourceforge.net/downloads/net-snmp/net-snmp/5.6-pre-releases/

The subagent usually sends a trap to the master agent, which then
rebroadcasts it to all the specified notification destinations.

You might try a different community than "public". I'm betting that you
have a 'rocommunity' with public around as well and it's conflicting.

I'd just like to thank you for posting the solution to your problem. It
helps that you've archived your results for future "search" engines to
find and index. Thank you (and I encourage others to do the same!)

I don't know where you got that file, but "ExtUtilis" is not the correct
name for the module it should be loading. You should try a more recent
version of the package. In particular, I think you should try 5.6.rc1
as it
You should check:
1) it could be a firewall issue
2) the agent may not be configured to allow access from outside the
device

If it's getting killed, I suspect you really have an agent that is
segfaulting or dying from a coding error. You should run it in a
debugger to figure out where it's dying.

If the box is hanging then certainly a debugger is likely the best way
to figure out what's going wrong.
I'd also run with the -d switch which should show the outgoing packets
in the log file.
If the manager isn't receiving them but the agent is getting them out
the door according to the -d outp
Hi,
I am facing issue in snmptraps .I am using snmp version 5.4
The protocol daemons work as subagent. The traps are being sent from
subagent to agent using agentx.
The box is hanging as soon as the traps are being sent.
Agent is receiving the traps properly since I had started snmp daemon
Hi,
I was also getting this error .. with non-root user [from some other group]
if I executed the snmpd its logging same error.
Its bit wired but I guess that was an environmental issue or some clean-up.
With root the command was getting executed successfully.
