Hi Sriventhal, I am new to net-snmp too. To answer you question, it depends on the target where SNMP will be running. For Linux machine on PCs , it's simple as David describe below. For embedded platforms, it's complicated, the link describes how to: http://www.freesnmp.com/net-snmp/faqs/#cross

Hi, I am trying to understand how SNMP agent gets access to MIB counters that reside on HW platforms. Can anyone tell me where to look for this information?. I am interested in Ether-like MIB, Bridge MIB, RMON Mibs . Regards, -Marc. --
