SNMPget cmd fails with Timeout from CentOS but works fine from windows

Dear all

 

Working on monitoring our datacentre power meters using Zenoss I am getting a very strange issue

 

running snmpget on the meter from the Zenoss system (Linux nlc1 2.6.18-238.19.1.el5 #1 SMP Fri Jul 15 07:32:29 EDT 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux)

 

[root@nlc1~]# snmpget -v1 -c public 10.3.9.11 1.3.6.1.4.1.29711.7709
Timeout: No Response from 10.3.9.11.

 

Now I thought this was a firewall or security issue until my colleague proceede to run the cmd from his windows box, it worked first time! I then tried on my windows box

 

C:\usr\bin>snmpget -v 1 -c public 10.3.9.11 1.3.6.1.4.1.29711.7680
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.29711.7680 = INTEGER: 105

 

I then tried from my Ubuntu workstation and also got a Timeout error?????

 

Can any one tell me what is taking place here, before I go bald :)
