Dear Bruce,
README.Solaris.txt says to make net-snmp.reg and net-snmp.rsrc in the
/etc/snmp/conf directory
then stop the default SNMP agent and then start it again (as i mentioned before)
/usr/local/sbin/snmpd is supposed to be invoked by the Master Agent and run as
Sub-Agent?
Is that correct??

i read the solaris.txt file which describes how to configure Solaris with
Net-Snmp Agent
i created the net-snmp.reg and net-snmp.rcrs and then execute
S76snmpdx start and
S77dmi start
do i have to do something else??

I installed on my solaris 8 box net-snmp 5.1.2
configure-make and make install was ok
make test had "ok" output too..
But when i tried to execute snmpconf -g basic_setup i get the following message
/>snmpconf -g basic_setup
Not enough arguments for mkdir at /usr/local/bin/snmpconf lin

Please tell me how can i make net-snmp to listen on different port rather than
default (161)?

I am using Hp-Openview in a Solaris box 5.8 Sparc Ultra -250, which uses it's
own Snmp Agent (Hp Emanate Agent).
I would like to know if i can install "net-snmp" and use it as a second
agent(to get Cpu and Memory utilization) -running simultaneously with Hp
