Title: RE: monitoring freeradius with net-snmp SOLVED

Thanks to everyone for pointing me in the right direction for this.

At sourceforge (url below), a patch has been supplied (currently untested by net-snmp developers AFAIK) to smux.c (net-snmp source) which fixes an authentication issue between freeradius and net-snmp.

Code compiles fine and works first time.

I'd be happy to forward the diff output between smux.c in net-snmp-5.3.1 and the patched version I compiled with if anyone needs it.

Thanks to everyone for their help especially Alan DeKok - he seems a very busy man!

FYI, the existing bug tracker item

[ 1527930 ] snmpd doesn't accept authentication from smux sub-agent

seems to have some coherent analysis on the problem.
