Subject: problems running the tutorial examples

Am trying to run the examples from the Dynamic Module Creation for the
net-snmp agent tutorial.
The tutorial was tried on both Redhat enterprise 3 & Redhat FC2 (net-snmp
5.1).
Due to missing snmp.conf & snmpd.conf customized for those examples I tried
to customize the config files following the other tutorials. Its a MESS :-(
When I run the commands from user space nothing worked. Switching to root
space and hacking the system's snmpd.conf improved things a bit but the
get and set commands still didn't work as expected in the tutorial.
for example the command
/snmptranslate -Td -OS NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentPluginObject -
gave the expected result
but the get command
snmpget -v1 -c public localhost
NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentPluginObject - returned:
Are you not supposed to give the oid in snmpget as
NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentPluginObject.0 ??

Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB.
Failed object: NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentPluginObject
/On the other hand when I opened the trace flags on my snmp.conf the
commands I run did provide a lot of warning statements on mibs provided by
net-snmp installation. !?
Can any one provide the configuration files needed to support the tutorial?
As I saw different behavior when running the commands from root space or
user space please specify the path to the provided config files & the space
the commands were run from (root / user)
