Hello everyone,
I really ran into a big issue with net-snmp 5.3.1,
my net-snmp
server is running on Linux redhat 9, where ppp server is also running.
when there is no ppp session on the server, all snmpwalk requests are
working fine, but when 100+ ppp sessions are made, then all snmpwalk
request (request on any node on mib tree) had got the time out, I
could not figure out why, finnally I noticed that snmpd cpu usage
jumped to 96%. when I disconnected all ppp sessions, snmpd usage
plunged back to normal, and snmpwalk works again
so I am wondering if net-snmp has the limits to handle big number of
network interfaces, like ppp interfaces.
Any help is highly appreciated!
