Thanks Dave, that seems to be the case.
/etc/host.allow has limited the access from other machines which was
set by other admins that I was not aware.

The net-snmp version I am running on snmptrapd box is 5.1.2 and the
test trap sent from remote box or either from command line is V1 trap.
No authentication was configured in this aspect.
I have 2 identical box, all same configuration, one works perfectly,

Yes it is located in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/ .

received properly. I do not know why snmptrapd does not translate the
traps receiving from remote boxes.

Hi,
I have a bit problem with snmptrapd demon running on RHEL4/net-snmp 5.1.2.
The trouble I found with snmptrapd running "-Lf /var/log/snmptrap.log
-d" option is:
It received and translate the traps fine if it's from localhost. For
example, the debug log show as below:
