is excited to launch it's regional artists' residency programme, HOW TO BE A
RESIDENT?The residency programme includes opportunities for artists to develop
new work in partnership with a variety of organisations including the Forestry
Commission, British Waterways and DaDa. Investigating the model of a
contemporary arts residency, they will take place in remote locations, online
and on water.In Summer 2011, AND will launch a two year programme of
residencies across the Northwest and online working in partnership with
organisations such as Forestry commission, British Waterways and DaDa to
develop a programme that will question the model of a contemporary artists
residences. 
During the AND festival in Liverpool resident artists and partners
will come together to discuss their experiences and question, how to be a
resident?AND is now inviting applications for the three exciting residency
programmes the deadline for all submissions is Friday 22 Jul 2011,
17:00NORTHWEST WATERWAYS, CANAL BOAT RESIDENCY, AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 2011
AND is working in partnership with the British Waterways to pilot an artists
residency programme on the Canals of the Northwest of England. This residency
offers a unique opportunity for an artist to be in residence on a canal boat on
and around the Lancashire and Manchester waterways. The aim of the programme is
to offer an artist or group of artists a dedicated period of time to develop
research or a project in this unique habitat, question how to be resident on
the waterways.

ENNERDALE, CUMBRIA FOREST RESIDENCY, SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2011
AND is working in partnership with the Forestry Commission to pilot a residency
programme in the Northwest of England. The Wild Ennerdale residency offers a
unique opportunity for a Brazilian artist to be in residence in Ennerdale
Valley. The valley is located in the heart of the in the western Lake District,
Cumbria and is an area of innovative conservation of international significance.

& DaDa ONLINE ARTISTS' RESIDENCY, SEPTEMBER - ONGOING
AND in partnership with DaDa - Disability and Deaf Arts are developing an
innovative artists’ online residency programme. This residency offers a unique
opportunity for a disabled* or D/deaf artist to work alongside a technologist
to develop an online / web based art project or area of research. The aim of
the residency is to enable an artist to investigate how technological
advancements online has effected how disabled or deaf artists can make work.
