We have found no up-and-running, "clean" way to gather donations. The visa and paypal button is the portal to a pervasive network- and that is where the problems lie. There are some good starts in thinking about this here http://www.dyndy.net/bank/ ...and we will be keeping our ears open- so do tell if you find things. Our approach will be 3-fold once the new website goes live. For the first 2 options, our focus will be to raise money to run and develop the website. So we will be asking people for money and feedback: ) 1) The first is Visa and Paypal-free! (for the donor at least) - We will be asking people to send their old mobile phones to us- we will then send them off to be green-recycled for cash! 2) We will probably have a Paypal button for straight donations too : ( 3) for project funding http://www.kickstarter.com/ looks good. This uses the amazon visa payment mechanism. Donors only make the payment if the amount pledged reaches its goal. This is also an interesting micro-payment facility- not quite right for us at the moment though it could be in the future if we start to organised differently http://flattr.com/ Cheers!
