Makers and Hackers is a competition run by Folksy and Tinker.it! to make
things for the Maker Faire in Newcastle on 14th/15th March - the first
ever Maker Faire in the UK. We’re running two Make days on the 28th Feb,
one in London (North House off Caledonian Road) and one in Sheffield at
Access Space (nr. the Train Station.)

Who is it for? Craft people - sewers, knitters, woodworkers, artists -
and electronics tinkerers. We’re asking you to make “Household items of
the future”. You’ll team up with others on the day, decide what to make
and then make it.

Maker Faire are sponsoring the events and items will be judged at the
end of the day for a chance to win one of four £50 prizes. We’ll be
taking the made things to the Maker Faire on the 14/15th to display
(you’ll get them back afterwards).

If you are interested in taking part, register on the website and come
along on the day with your kit bag (whatever materials and tools you
generally use). Food and drink will be provided.
