*The ECOC's programme strand Urban Furrows will host an international
congress with the title "Rethinking Potentials" on October 5^th and 6^th
. This will be the third congress organised by the Urban Furrows. The
main aim is to strengthen international cooperation and the exchange of
ideas. *
The first congress, "Furthering Imagination and Intuition", was held at
the end of 2010 and set out to recruit dedicated new members from
Maribor to the Urban Furrows team. Many of the participants became
actively involved in the project and today represent a vital part of the
Urban Furrows. The second congress in May 2011, "Reciprocity and
Connecting", saw the researchers establish ties within the wider region.
The coming international congress seeks to give the researchers of the
Furrows the opportunity to develop their ideas further by cooperating
with experienced, established experts which have been at the helm of
similar, more extensive and even more demanding programmes for years as
part of various organisations and associations around Europe.
The congress will be attended by representatives of the following
organisations: Furtherfield (London, UK), Access Space (Sheffield, UK),
Binario Etico (Rome, Italy), City Mine(d) (London, UK), Regional Centre
for Minorities (Belgrade, Serbia), Roma Educational Centre (Subotica,
Serbia), Arche Noah (Vienna, Austria), Interkultureller
Gemeinschaftsgarten (Graz, Austria), Garten Rosa Rose (Berlin, Germany),
Green Action (Zagreb, Croatia), Velosophie (Pécs, Hungary), Zofi
(Budapest, Hungary), and Bike Kitchen (Vienna, Austria).
