Hi Greg.
I have successfully installed 7.0 (beta, over the summer) on a core duo
(not core2) macbook (not pro), in i386 mode, and on a

I ran the update last night, initially 5.2 -> 6.1.5, it mostly worked
but when I rebooted after etcupdate'ing (which, has a _lot_ of "um? I

Hi,
rc.subr(8) mentions ${name}_chroot, rcorder(8) has the chrootdir KEYWORD
and /etc/rc.d/syslogd is looking for ${name}_chrootdir when creating a
list of all syslog sockets that need to be placed in chroots.
${name}_chroot will satisfy rc(8) but syslog won't create a socket in

Hi.
I am trying to install NetBSD 6.5.1 on a Macbook Pro, early 2006, in a dual
boot configuration. The laptop was given to me so I have pretty much started
from scratch:
1. Reformatted internal drive
2. Installed Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) from a retail DVD
3. Installed refind (Note 1)
4.

But ... why?
Because 6.x isn't going to be supported forever and since my experience
with the 7.x BETA was good I didn't see any reason to delay the upgrade
on any machine where it worked. I still have one internet connected 6.x
system (my firewall) but that to will go

I've recently installed libreoffice4 from binaries on NetBSD7/amd64
(too scared to try building libreoffice5 from sources) and I'm quite
happy, even without a full set of fonts.

No, the proper libreoffice4:
