Take a look at /sbin/scan_ffs aka. /rescue/scan_ffs.

Looks like the attached diff is sufficient.
Will you commit or should I?

Ok some comments:
- union_copyup() works and is needed for regular nodes only.
- it copies the node attributes up so checking the access on
the (copied) upper node should be sufficient.
- the switch() on top checks for read-only mounted upper layer,
not the lower layer.
The attached diff just copies up in the VWRITE/VREG case and
this should be sufficient -- please give it a try.

As the underlying node is on a ro-mounted file system this will
always fail with EROFS if the underlying node exists.
Maybe we should check for read access on the underlying file system,
copy up and then check the upper node.

While "zfs status" is wrong as there is no command "status"
the ZFS module should be loaded automatically and you should
get a usage from running this command.
You have "/dev/zfs"

On NetBSD-8 "mount -f -r -u /" shoul
come a quirk. Could you try an unmodified
kernel with option PCMCIAVERBOSE and post the dmesg?

Ok, UFS2 with dynamic inode initialisation. Did your machine ever
crash since
e 0x2f20 (chr, sticky, suid, sgid, mode rr-), looks like garbage.
I suppose fsck will not complain about unallocated garbage inodes.
Is the /usr file system UFS1 or UFS2, output of dumpfs could help.

hen it seems to be unmapped?
sys_mmap() found in sys/uvm/uvm_mmap.c tests FIXED maps for (values for
amd64 in parentheses) for
addr >= VM_MIN_ADDRESS (0)
and
addr+size <= VM_MAXUSER_ADDRESS (0x7f80)
You try a value above VM_MAXUSER_ADDRESS:
0x00040000 &g
CPU mode to see if it helps

If the system has tmpfs (tmpfs /tmp tmpfs rw) this could be ticket #1365
(http://releng.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/req-6.cgi?show=1365).

This is esiop: Enhanced Symbios Logic/NCR 53c8xx SCSI driver.
How did you configure the disk(s) on the kvm host, driver/bus?

Looks like a NFS problem, too many threads in nfsrcv...

NetBSD-5.1.2 is missing the attached diff. 5.2 and on should have it.
