On a more serious note; rsync is pretty much *the* tool that one should
use for "dynamic" backups. There's also the good ol' tar, but that's
more for static backups.

I'm confused; why aren't using build.sh to build the kernel? Also, what
does your mk.conf look like? To my untrained eye, the error seems to be
poiting towards a syntax error in there.
