Hi,
Currently NetworkManager does not recover once the D-BUS system bus is
restarted. With the attached patch it will survive such a exceptional

It does the following:
* add function nm_dbus_reinit to src/NetworkManagerDbus.c.
* fix: handle the signal Disconnected on
Hello,
I'm looking at writing a script for the dispatcher to handle. I need
to get from NetworkManager what the current active interface is. How
can I query DBUS to get the active interface? Is that the correct way
to do it? I guess an other question is where can I find docs on the
api?

Hi all
This question might also interest Brian Millett with his very recent
thread about the NM api.
I'm currently writing a python/glade interface to NM to try a different
approach for the GUI. (I'm not 100% sure a notification icon is the best
way to go, so I want to try something else
hi...
i'm looking to create a dell/rhel laptop, using netgear's wg511t network
card.
i'm considering this card as it appears to be natively supported by rhel 4.
is this correct?
can someone tell me the actual steps (or point me to a site with the actual
steps) to get the card up/running on the
In the article at http://www.ces.clemson.edu/linux/nm.shtml I have
scripts for starting and stopping firestarter using the Dispatcher. I
also have a hack (iptables rules) for making firestarter work correctly
with VPN.

but can someone point me to something that takes me through how to get a
wireless card up/runing on linux, step-by-step
and can someone explain to me why RHEL appears to have a list of
cards/adapters, if it doesn't really natively support any cards that i can
find for the box?
hi axel...
i checked out the link you provided and i'm still confused...
here are the steps i think i need (but i still don't know which card to

I'm still experimenting with NetworkManager (it has been a rather spotty
effort as I am moving this month) and have noticed a curiosity that
doesn't seem to have drawn any other comments when I search the list
