If you look at /proc/net/dev once connected there's counters available
showing how much data that has been transferred, I believe this
counter will reset each time the interface is disconnected from your
computer.
Your best choice is probably to write a script that counts the data
from /proc/net/d
This would be a great feature, can i also request that you also
consider pay as you go subscriptions, which have a capped limit of
both data and time, so it would be great to have a counter start tool
that could be used to count time and usage. So users could access how
much usage they have
Hi,
I recently started using the mobile broadband feature of NM, and it
works great. Unfortunately, I have a monthly upper threshold on my
subscription, which I guess is pretty common. If I exceed this limit, I
will get charged excessively per MB transferred. In my case the
threshold is 500 MB per

I've been using a 3G USB modem with NetworkManager applet for a while now
with no problems. All of a sudden, it just stopped working.
I tried things like restarting, deleting the modem's profile and creating it
again, but it's still not working.
I can connect with my WLAN dongle though and my 3G m

For instance this most obvious false positive: you are connected but not

case?
There's also the granularity issue; one can't expect NM to determine
what ports are blocked by firewalls, proxied, etc

There seems to be something fundamentally wrong in this no-connection/
/offline thing. Since NM can be configured to manage _not all_
interfaces (including none at all) then why are some applications
wrongly assuming NM is always managing the entire network
configuration? T
Your virtual machine is only going to see the virtual network that vmware
creates. The host system gets to access the hardware directly, all the guests
only see the virtual network.

Hey all.
I have two usb wireless devices that I have plugged into my computer. I am on
ubuntu 9.04 so the rt73usb is the kernel module used to drive them. However I
only want to use one of them in my host system. The other one I want to use
exclusively in a VM machine. It is also driven by

Thanks for finding this, though I've committed a different fix that
should work the same, but
