After doing a network install of 2005LE, my modem is not detected. (I
also have a broadband connection but need my modem for faxing). Windows
shows it on COMM 3, and a modem query in XP returns the following:

AT+GMM - +GMM: V90
AT+FCLASS=? - 0,1,1.0,2,8
AT#CLS=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED
AT+GCI? - +GCI: B5
AT+GCI=? - +GCI: (B5)
ATI1 - 212
ATI2 - OK
ATI3 - V3.210-V90_2M_DLP
ATI4 - Creative Modem Blaster Flash56 DI5601
ATI5 - B5
ATI6 - RCV56DPF-PLL L8571A Rev 36.00/36.00
ATI7 - OK

Why can't Mandriva see it? Mandrake 10.1 found it!

/dev had no entry for /dev/modem, so I created an s-link to /dev/ttyS2
(com3). It did not help. How do I start to solve this problem?

Mike

was your 10.1 install by chance the powerpack and your le2005 install download? powerpack has the drivers for some winmodems that the gnu version will not have

Thanks for the reply, but the Modem Blaster is not a winmodem. It has a hardware controller. My 10.1 was a 4CD set (official) purchased from CD

Then it may be one of those that are only supported by linuxant drivers, wich AFAIK are on the Official CD4, but due to licensing cant be in the download edition...

discount site. LE was installed by downloading boot.iso. When booting from it, the install is done over the broadband connection.

Please post the output of "cat /var/log/dmesg" and "lspcidrake -v"
