I just put Mandrake 7.0 on a Toshiba Satellite 205CDS laptop and was wondering how to configure a few things: 1) last year I had RedHat 5.2 on this machine and found configuration parameters to get the system to allow an 800x600 display instead of 640x480. I went into XF86Config and put everything as I had before and after rebooting I can't get back into X Win because it doesn't seem to like its new configureation. 2) Has anyone successfully gotten a SyQuest Spar-Q drive to run through the parallel port with Mandrake? I have seen a little bit online about PARIDE, but so far havn't seen enough...my main HD is only 774MB so getting an ectra gig with Spar-Q would be nice. 3) I opened up "CD Player", popped in a CD, hit play, heard it spin, watched the seconds go by and got NO sound and a message about it not being able to find CDDB something or rather...any ideas??? I do get system beeps but haven't heard anything else so far... So if anyone can help with any of these problems, I would appreciate it.
