Using Gnome/Midnight Commander I copied a file to a Floppy to work on
another computer. The file was corrupted so I went back to the original to
find it gone!
Did I move it (I think I may have dragged it)? Is there any way to get it
back - it's over a days work

I seem to have installed Mandrake on my iMac, but as indicated may happen
openfirmware does not detect the linux partition on startup...
The documentation differs from the infor at the end of installation and I
could get neither to work... I can get the Openfirmware console up and I
type in:

what to type in and how to shutdown after entering into the openfirmware

The instructions I have say download the 2 RPM's (source and header), but I
just need to add a custom kernel based on the existing configuration. How
do I go about this, as the packages are already installed?

No, it was written for the G3 and G4 processors and the older ones are not
completely compatible.
