Using Gnome/Midnight Commander I copied a file to a Floppy to work on another computer. The file was corrupted so I went back to the original to find it gone! Did I move it (I think I may have dragged it)? Is there any way to get it back - it's over a days work Please help! Want to buy

I seem to have installed Mandrake on my iMac, but as indicated may happen openfirmware does not detect the linux partition on startup... The documentation differs from the infor at the end of installation and I could get neither to work... I can get the Openfirmware console up and I type in:

Please help... Can't get openfirmware to boot into Mandrake. Don't know how to tell what version of OpenFirmWare the iMac is running (did it say 1.0?), or exactly what to type in and how to shutdown after entering into the openfirmware screen... Help me start the New Year with Linux? Want
