Rather then having vnc start automatically I suggest starting vnc only
when you need it. That is the best way to handle any service. Run it
only when needed! Somewhere in the Mandrake control center, you can
start and stop any available service. That is probably the easiest

I had precisely the same problems some time ago. I always attributed it
to hardware incompatibilities. I bought a new mouse and the problem
went away. I ended up using the "bad" mouse with another machine and it
works fine though.
