I have installed Ulysses on
my thinkpad 365XD. It runs fine at runlevel 3 (without X) but trying
'startx' causes the display to go into block mode... not
nice.
I decided to run through
xf86config and setup the TRIDENT CYBER 9320 (which is the specific graphics
chipset) - no
I downloaded the 7.2 beta
install image and viola .. no problems.
So that confirms what
others are saying as well that there is a bad 7.1 ISO image floating around and
I downloaded my original from the Atlanta site

I have the above with 1.3
GB / P133. I upgraded it from Win95 to Win98 (mistake) runs like a dog
now.
Anybody installed linux to
a similar laptop ? problems ?

Alas this is not the 100% solution either as I always use an FTP client
which defaults to Binary mode op.
As we speak I am downloading the 7.2 beta install ISO image and will give
that a shot and post the results.

stage ramdisk" and then just as it appears to
finish, up pop a dialog with "Error Loading Ramdisk" and the system
hangs.
I'd like to know
- why I get this
problem
- how I could change to
loading process to disable the ramdisk (or is it essential)
?
