well i guess my linux installations is f'ed up because the damn thing hangs
after trying to play the sound. oh sure, it autodetects the card fine but
when it goes to play the sample file it's an endless wait. i also entered
the sound card info manually (sndconfig --noprobe) with the same results.
does anybody have any ideas? this is a fresh install so if something does
sound wrong i can just as easily reinstall.  any help would be appreciated.
